When is fine mesh (FM) recommended?
Some areas are home to very small insects, such as midges. For these areas, a roller blind with fine mesh (FM) is recommended.
Are sizes on demand possible?
Our roller blinds can also be produced to order. The minimum deliverable width is 430 mm, the minimum height is 200 mm. The maximum width is 1500 mm and the maximum height is 1200 mm. If the height is greater than the width, consultation is necessary.

Ventilation is essential when living in a compact space. While traveling in a camper, expedition vehicle or any other special-purpose travel vehicle, you'll face a wide range of conditions: heat, cold, humidity and insects. Outbound roller screens provide comfort and control in all these situations.
Smooth and silent operation, even with heavy use
The system runs quietly and effortlessly, even after long-term use. The cassette is made of powder-coated aluminium, making it resistant to moisture, salt and extreme temperature fluctuations, ideal for extended use in tough conditions.
Fine mesh to keep even the tiniest insects out
In areas where midges and other tiny insects are common, standard mesh may not be enough. That’s why we offer a fine-mesh version that blocks even the smallest bugs, while still allowing optimal airflow thanks to its ultra-thin thread. The mesh is woven from UV-resistant polyester and available in both standard and fine-mesh variants. For blackout functionality, we use 100% polyester fabric with a white reflective backing, helping you maintain privacy, reduce heat, and create a calm interior. The magnetic closure keeps the screen firmly shut, even when the vehicle vibrates or faces wind pressure. After a long journey, the cassette can be easily opened for cleaning and insect removal.
Minimal space, maximum effect
Our roller screens are designed for compact installation. The cassette takes up very little space and can be mounted directly to walls or ceilings, ideal for campers, 4x4s and expedition vehicles, where every centimeter counts and comfort matters. Outbound roller screens combine insect protection and blackout in one compact system. Quiet, low-profile and easy to operate with one hand. At Outbound, we’ve intentionally chosen roller screens over pleated blinds. Why? Because a tightly stretched fabric seals better along the sides, reducing the chance of insects sneaking in.
Mounting and installation of Outbound roller screens
Developed by overlanders with real-world experience, the design reflects what matters most on the road: easy installation, low-vibration materials and a mechanism that stays smooth for years. Each screen comes pre-assembled in a cassette, suitable for both horizontal and vertical installation. They fit perfectly with Outbound windows and roof windows, with mounting holes already prepared and invisibly integrated for a clean, seamless look.
